Zodus

Research for a better life

what we do

At Zodus, our aim is to improve well-being through better decision making.

We design games to research judgements and behaviours in areas with complex trade-offs, such as health, education, savings and more.

When volunteers play our research games, they unlock insight into their free judgement and behaviour.

These insights help our volunteers make better choices, and help government and companies design better policies and services.

Better decision-making

For greater well-being over a long life

Better decision-making

For greater well-being over a long life

What skills do I need to stay productive over a long life?  What longevity events should I insure for? How do I best drawdown by savings? How do I best deal with poor health? What is the best saving more vs working longer trade-off for me? ...

Planning for the future involves infrequent, complex and emotional decisions.  But our brains are not wired to live for the future.  So we delay decision-making, or prioritise near term needs over long term ones.

As we live longer, this behaviour bites back.  Baby boomers are under-prepared for a much longer and faster changing life than they expected.  They face some very difficult wealth, skill and health trade-offs.  Younger generations do too.  Accelerating change and uncertainty make their savings and work decisions far more difficult than ever before.

Policy makers and companies cannot help much.  The data on the “feeling and thinking” of customers facing such trade-off decisions cannot be observed in real time.

It must be created.

This is what playing our games does.  From the free judgement and behaviour our players express in game play, we seek to discover how different people solve problems, use tools, react to information and events and learn from prior experiences.  With this data, we want to help them make better choices, and help governments and companies design better policies and services.

For a greater well-being.
